Senior Electrical Engineer

Summary:

Access Laser Company is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to develop novel mixed signal circuits for controlling RF excited molecular lasers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a small dedicated engineering team to design, prototype, and test mixed signal control systems for molecular lasers.
  • Participate in all concept, preliminary, and critical design reviews.
  • Take on the role of project manager for specific projects as assigned.
  • Design mixed signal PCBAs (schematic capture, PCB layout, part specification and documentation).
  • Responsible for regulatory compliance for new products including laser safety and CE Mark.
  • Write test procedures and test reports for prototypes, first articles, and design verification/validation.
  • Release new designs using Agile PLM system.
  • Support production through NPI phase.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Over 10 years experience designing and testing mixed signal PCBAs with at least 3 years acting as project manager.
  • Experience with CE Mark process and related harmonized standards.
  • Familiarity with EDA tools such as Altium, SPICE, and Xilinx ISE.
  • Experience writing technical reports.
  • Competent with test equipment for mixed signal circuits.
  • Ability and willingness to work in collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong analog skills including closed loop control systems.
  • Familiarity with FPGAs and CPLDs; literate in VHDL and Xilinx tools.
  • Experience writing firmware for microcontrollers (ASM or C++).
  • Experience with laser safety standard including CDRH and IEC 60825-1 for international compliance.
  • Experience using Altium with an SVN server and SolidWorks PDM Vault for version control.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or experience using Six Sigma tools such as FMEA, DOE, and Process Maps.

A successful applicant must be able to routinely move equipment and raw material weighing up to 50 pounds.

HR Generalist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for local HR functions in a growing 50+ employee electronics manufacturing company including implementation and day-to-day administration
  • Position reports to the CFO and implements the strategic plan/policy design recommended by the senior management team
  • Works with CFO to understand and ensure compliance with employment laws; keeps abreast of legislation affecting HR and updating CFO on changes
  • Partners with CFO to administer benefits plans, including medical, dental, vision, life and 401(k).
  • Managing on-boarding process for new employees from offer letter through the end of probationary period.
  • Sourcing, recruiting, screening candidates and orientations for positions ranging from manufacturing to sales, marketing and engineering
  • Working with managers to make recommendations on employment decisions including transfers, promotions, hires and terminations
  • Sourcing local and industry salary data to ensure company pays competitively
  • Participating in the planning of company events
  • Working with managers to make recommendations on coaching managers and employees on employee relations issues
  • Working with managers to facilitate employee development and training
  • Maintaining employment, benefit and HR files
  • Miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned to help develop the HR function within Access Laser
  • Assist with any employment related immigration needs

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or other related field preferred, an Associate’s degree plus work experience may substitute
  • At least 3 years’ experience in HR role
  • Implementation and administration of HR programs
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills required
  • Customer service-oriented approach to HR
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow through
  • Ability to work independently as well as a member of cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in ADP and MS Office
  • Experience using a HRIS
  • Experienced in working in the high-tech and/or manufacturing industries preferred

Laser Test Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a small dedicated team to produce and service specialized laser products in a clean room environment.
  • Test and fine tune specialty lasers to defined specifications prior to shipping.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that all lasers shipped meet the highest quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and other manufacturing personnel.
  • Improve tooling, setup, and equipment related to specialty laser products and RF power supplies.

 Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a test or technician role in high tech manufacturing or a similar service organization.
  • Associate’s degree in physics, optics, photonics, electronics technology, engineering technology, or similar fields of study.
  • Experience with measurement/test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters, network analyzers, as well as hand tools
  • In-depth knowledge of electronics, optics, or mechanical manufacturing.
  • Good hands-on skills for building, trouble-shooting and repairing electromechanical assemblies.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to meticulously follow defined processes.
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs on a routine basis with the ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs.

Mechanical Assembler

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works as part of a small dedicated team to produce specialized laser products in a clean room environment.
  • Precision assembly of molecular gas RF excited lasers, according to assembly instructions, drawings and specifications, using hand tools, precision instruments, and test equipment.
  • Visually inspects and measures component parts for defects to ensure conformance to specified requirements.
  • Constructs gas-tight electro-optical assemblies by precisely locating components with the aid of height-gauges, micrometers and calipers.
  • Troubleshoots assembly issues; reworking, replacing, realigning parts, and retesting production units as needed to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that all laser assemblies produced meet the highest quality standards.
  • Performs routine maintenance on process equipment.
  • Records accurate production data.
  • Reports on issues, malfunctions or defective parts.
  • Improves tooling, setup, and equipment related to specialty laser products and RF power supplies.

 Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in precision assembly in high tech manufacturing or a similar organization.
  • Ability to read and follow technical assembly instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Good hands-on skills for building, trouble-shooting and repairing mechanical assemblies.
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to meticulously follow defined processes.
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs on a routine basis with the ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

RF/Laser Test Technician

  • Be the primary technician to work with and test RF drivers used with molecular gas RF excited lasers
  • Test and fine tune specialty lasers to defined specifications prior to shipping.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that all products shipped meet the highest quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and other manufacturing personnel.
  • Improve tooling, setup, and equipment related to specialty laser products and RF power supplies.

 Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a electronics test or technician role in high tech manufacturing or a similar service organization.
  • Associates degree in electronics technology, engineering technology, or similar fields of study.
  • An understanding of and previous experience with RF power supplies.
  • Experience with measurement/test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters, network analyzers, as well as hand tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of electronics manufacturing practices.
  • Good hands-on skills for building, trouble-shooting and repairing electronic assemblies.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to meticulously follow defined processes.
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs on a routine basis with the ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs.
