Sorensen DMD, PhD and Professor Hai Zhang DMD, PhD of the Department of Restorative Dentistry’s Biomimetics, Biomaterials, Biophotonics, Biomechanics & Technology (B4T) Laboratory to discuss their research utilizing an Access Laser 9.3µm DL500 all-tissue dental laser. Their work is to validate the efficacy, effectiveness and efficiency of laser ablation for tooth preparation. Ultimately, aiming to establish a new technology of Computer Aided Preparation (CAP) enabled by precise laser ablation and adding it to the existing CAD/CAM digital dentistry workflow to make it a complete digital solution (CAP/CAD/CAM) from start to finish in restorative dentistry.
